Effervescent and our young curators, working in partnership with Barnardos and Plymouth University, has commissioned a sculpture from local glass artist Amy Whittingham . The young curators’ show, The Cold Truth, is due to open in January 2015.
We need to source 35 pairs of shoes which have been worn by children and young people aged 5 – 18 years old. Flip flops, trainers, school shoes, slippers, sandals, trainers, welly boots, and footwear of all description would be most gratefully received. If you drop your shoes off in a bag with your name and contact details, we will credit you as a supporter of the show, and invite you to the VIP preview in January.
All you have to do, is wrap the shoes in a plastic bag and drop them in the show box at RumpusCosy before the end of September. We won’t be able to return the shoes, because the process they will go through may damage or destroy them. The sculpture will, however, preserve a version of them forever.
